Training and Facilitation
This page describes the Training and Facilitation that Chris Church can offer to anyone with an interest in running or hosting a course, discussion, meeting etc. Chris is currently doing a range of work in this field (see section on Suscom Current Work), and is happy to discuss new ideas. Jan McHarry is also a skilled facilitator, specialising in work with faith groups and older people.
Facilitation
Chris is also a skilled facilitator and is available to facilitate planning sessions, conferences, workshops etc. He has worked at every level from international policy meetings to local community planning work and with a very diverse range of communities. He can help design sessions or days to deliver desired outcomes. Recent work includes facilitation training over two days for Westminster Council staff, leading consultation meetings for their Core Strategy.
Chris Church’s course on Effective Facilitation (for Talk Action) has run 9 times in the last year and consistently receives very good feedback (references available).

Training
We offer both ‘off-the peg’ courses and courses deigned to meet specific needs. We deliver training ourselves but also work as associates for other training organisations. Much of Chris Church's training is delivered with two agencies:
For the social enterprise Talk Action Chris runs three one-day courses:
- Effective facilitation. This course sells out and gets very positive feedback.
- Communication and climate change: getting the message across. This popular course runs regularly and has also been delivered to local councils and groups of Environment Agency staff
- Working with communities. This course builds on Chris' 20+ years of experience and is recommended for anyone doing community engagement work.

Chris also works with COIN, the Climate Outreach & Information Network. His work for COIN includes courses on:
- Public speaking on climate change
- Climate Change Condensed: a 3-hour course on the basics of climate change
- Adaptation to climate change (a course aimed at local councils)
